Childlike, Not Childish

My wife and I recently returned from a trip to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.  We spent three days there, mainly in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park.

While I certainly had no objection to going, it wasn't me who was motivated to plan and save for this vacation.  Ceecee is a Harry Potter fanatic, and had been excited about this since the day she heard that such a place was being built.

We've come together to celebrate our dear friend's new baby, her very life and her entrance into the church. We're all standing, singing a song of praise, as sunlight streams in through the stained glass windows. It's a beautiful day, and being here, surrounded by friends, celebrating life, is like healing balm to my heart, my heart that within just a few short weeks has been made fuller by the promise of new life, and broken and chapped by the pain of miscarriage.

The Dance of One

Like winds stirring amidst the trees,
Your Love moved in with effortless ease.

Swaying in gentle waves across the horizon,
Your Spirit moved in and through me.

Rising and falling in yielded unison,
time and reason disappeared.

Melodious silence filled my heart,
the ride of peace beckoned me away.

Energy depleted and hope renewed,
the dance of One opens trust anew.
