What Lies Between Us

What lies between us looms so large and so vast like an ocean.  I cannot see around it, nor can I cross it.  The roaring of the waves of loneliness crash unceasingly in my heart.  The weight of the pounding of unworthiness beats within my thoughts.  It overwhelms the hope that once glistened like a rainbow across an endless blue sky.

Am I not “forever running but losing the race”?

“Wandering down some pointless road to nowhere with my salvation up to me.”

What lies between us looms so large and so vast like an ocean.  I cannot see around it, nor can I cross it.  With nails firmly in hand, Your sacrifice created the bridge so I would not be lost.  The roaring of the waves of love crash unceasingly in my heart.  The peace by acceptance floods my thoughts.  Hope overwhelms and glistens like a rainbow across an endless blue sky.

Would I not be “forever running but losing the race, were it not for grace”?
