Remember Me

On that day, they were stretched
as far as their arms and hands could be.
Bound to their destiny were they
by hand and foot, by nails into wood.

All three were condemned
but only One was innocent.
One begged to be remembered
while the other taunted.

The guilty one asked to be remembered
and on that day, paradise was opened.
With a Hallelujah chorus, the veil was torn asunder
and heaven’s door was thrust wide to receive any and all.

At the asking, the guilty entered the kingdom
though condemnation was deserved.
At the asking, the guilty was welcomed into paradise
through the imminent death of the innocent One.

If you ask the innocent One to remember you
then today you will have keys to His kingdom.
Today you will be known in paradise
should your body be taken in death.

But dearest one please know there is so much more
to life here and now than waiting to enter paradise.
When you ask the One to remember you
then today you belong to the One who is Love.

He will never leave you nor forsake you
wherever on earth you may go.
However long you may linger here
He will tell you and show you that He loves you so.

He will always remember you, today and every day
for His love is pure and good and He can do nought else.
His Presence will sometimes overwhelm you
but His Presence will always satisfy you.

There is more to Him than paradise one glad day
though eternity with Him will be simply glorious.
If your prayer is indeed, “Remember me”,
His mercy and goodness are yours today and every day.

Perhaps you have forgotten or ignored Him
though one day you did cry out, “Remember me”.
He still remembers you, today and every day
for His love is pure and good and He can do nought else.

“Remember me
when You
come into Your kingdom.”

“Truly I tell you,
today
you will be with Me in paradise.”
