Comfortable in the conditioned air, the coolness allows
freedom of movement without undue sweating,
freedom of breathing without undue stress.
Comfortable in the conditioned air, the cocoon of protected air shields
from heat that blisters,
from humidity that oppresses.
Comfortable in the conditioned air, the filter divides and sorts
the particles of dust and allergens and keeps them at bay,
the offending and unhealthy bits and purifies the airflow.
In conditioned circumstances we long to live
where the things that we take in are not threatening,
where we do not suffer and strive.
But as long as I am upright on this ball of dirt
on the surface I will sweat and cry,
on the surface I will trod on yet thrive.
My feet may be bound by gravity
all the while my eyes are fixed on yonder shoreline,
all the while my heart is cradled by the Most High.
Love’s Power has not been diminished or denied
though cartwheeling on streets of gold has been delayed,
though Love’s pure glory is yet still veiled.
There will come a day wherein I
will no longer be held within conditioned circumstances,
will no longer be buffeted by these oppressive times.
Love’s Power will have been unleashed
and Heaven’s grand chorus will usher in glorious beauty,
and Heaven’s Grace will be adored for eternity.
