The road we travel is long and arduous
for mile after mile each step begs another.
The story never seems to end
but the chapters repeat themselves over and over.
Truly I ask, is it that the road is so very long
or is it that the shoes we wear are not fit for the journey?
Are we running down the rutted and dusty road
in stilettos of power instead of trainers for a marathon?
Are we climbing mountains and crossing valleys
in sandals for beach going and not with boots for hiking?
The road is long and so conquer each mile as is appointed to you
but don the shoes that bring peace and readiness for the march you are in.
