Oh to be a child again when life is full of primary colors, daisies and butterflies.
Oh to be a child again when the lightning bugs glitter as dusk settles across the land while cuddles from Grandma and cotton pajamas swaddle me in security.
Oh to be a child again when the orange and yellow sailboats bob up and down in the tidal waves of bathtub adventures and Johnson’s Baby Shampoo and Lavender Bath Scrub form a sailor suit of suds and cleanliness.
Oh to be a child again when tears and spilled milk are easily wiped away.
Oh to be a child again when hugs and kisses are innocent and abundant as are giggles and curiosity and questions and the need for discovery.
Oh to be a child again when adults are trusted and authority figures are there to guide and to protect and everyone loves and dotes on me and the rain never catches me because there are always loving arms holding me.
Oh to be a child again when my skin was soft and sensitive. And so was my heart.
