A Wanderer in the Desert

Like a wanderer in the desert,
tired, thirsty and all alone,
I listened to the man.

He spoke life,
he spoke hope,
he spoke love.

The Scripture he read aloud and boldly,
Truth personified and alive,
God of mercy and justice is HE.

The man did not entertain,
only with confidence did he proclaim,
God in Word in everlasting holiness.

He told me not what God is telling me,
he did not shout what I should do,
he quoted Truth printed in black and red.

Like a wanderer in the desert,
the man served me with utmost grace,
the Bread of Life and Living Water.
